Maria Teresita Geraldine C. Sison Go

Maria Teresita Geraldine “Maritess” C. Sison Go joined the Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc and De Los Angeles Law Offices in June, 1983. She is currently a Partner and Head of the law office’s Immigration Department.

She handles applications with the Bureau of Immigration BI for the continued stay of foreign nationals and their dependents in the Philippines and assists clients in procuring work permits. She represents foreigners who desire to be naturalized Filipino citizens and handles visa applications on behalf of foreign nationals who are married to Filipinos and whose countries have reciprocity agreements with the Philippines.

Maritess became the President of the Philippine Bar Association PBA from 2010 to 2011 and has been elected as one of the organization’s Trustees since 2004.

She was also elected as the President of the University of the Philippines Women Lawyers’ Circle UP WILOCI from 2002 to 2004.

She was appointed as National Treasurer of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines IBP from July 2011 to June 2017.

During her presidency with the IBP Manila IV Chapter from April 1999 up to March 2001, she was a recipient of one of the Outstanding IBP Chapter President Awards during the 8th National Convention of Lawyers in April 2001.

The St. Scholastica’s College SSC and the St. Scholastica’s Alumnae Foundation Inc. SSAFI awarded her as one of the Outstanding Scholastican Alumnae Awardees of the St. Scholastica’s College, her alma mater in the school’s Centennial Celebration in 2006.

Maritess graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Philippines UP in 1975 and obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the same university in 1980. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1982.
