The PBA partnered with the Justice George Malcolm Foundation, and the IBP
Journal to hold a forum on the Divorce Bill recently passed on 3rd Reading by the House of Representatives.
The forum featured former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr and Prof Jaypee
Calleja who spoke for the Anti-Divorce side. The Pro-Divorce side was represented by former Associate Justice and Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and Prof Patty Sta. Maria. PBA President Joel Ayson closed the event with remarks on the democratic need to hear both sides, especially on matters that are polarizing.
The event had more than 600 registrants and was live streamed on several
platforms. A recording will be uploaded on the PBA website and FB Page and UP Law’s website.
