Chrysilla Carissa P. Bautista is a Partner of Angara Abello Concepcion Regala and Cruz. She is an experienced litigator and represents clients in complex commercial litigation before trial and appellate courts. She also represents clients before arbitration panels. Since 2023 to the present, Chambers Asia Pacific has identified Ms. Bautista as among the distinguished lawyers in Dispute Resolution. She has been described as “well regarded for her expertise as a commercial and civil litigator” and her work on various matters, “including regulations on technology matters, such as cyber warrants” as well as “shareholder disputes, mass torts actions and internal investigations”. She is also described as “very proactive”.
In addition to her litigation work, she also advises clients on corporate matters and transactional work. She assists foreign clients who invest and establish their businesses in the country and advises them on different compliance issues. She also assists clients on M&A deals, whether from the buyer or seller side.
Ms. Bautista also teaches in the University of the Philippines. She teaches remedial law subjects, such as Criminal Procedure and Special Proceedings. She also belongs to the panel of lecturers of the U.P. Law Center’s Paralegal Training Program.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English Studies from the University of the Philippines where she graduated magna cum laude. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the same university. She then obtained her Master of Laws from Columbia University in New York and graduated with honors as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She is also admitted to the New York Bar.
