He is currently the Assistant National Secretary of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Prior to joining Quasha Law Office in 2022, Mr. Saavedra worked with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) from 1989 until 2000, where he liaised for the Department with Congress and helped marshal important legislative measures on the protection of the environment and sustainable management of the natural resources. From the DENR, he transferred to the Office of the Solicitor General in 2000 where he handled cases for the Republic of the Philippines in all levels of the Philippine judiciary. Mr. Saavedra left government service and joined the legal department of the United Coconut Planters Bank in 2008, where he was tasked to handle corporate banking cases.
Mr. Saavedra took his pre-law from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, graduating with a degree in Philosophy in 1987. He finished his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the East College of Law in 1995 and passed the bar in 1996. In 2001, Mr. Saavedra obtained his Master of Laws degree from the University of Sydney.
